Integration Engineer (RRO475)
Position summary:
Pentalog Romania is looking for Integration Engineers. Our client develops and sells video over IP streaming equipments. Targeted markets are telcos, broadcasters, and integrators of the hospitality market (hotels, cruse ships, hospitals…), to provide digital TV and video on demand.
The missions take place at our clients’ offices around the world. That’s why we are looking for mobile people for missions which start quickly, lasting 1-6 weeks. It is mandatory to have an European passport.
For these missions, Pentalog provides attractive bonuses.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for installing and setting up our client’s equipments, and sometimes other equipments, to tune them when necessary, to diagnose and troubleshoot issues that may occur, due to equipments defects.
This includes sending bug reports to R&D, and investigating problems with other manufacturer’s support.
You will be also responsible for reporting to the customer, to design and update the planning, and to negotiate with the customer when they fail to manage their project properly or when they request our client to do out of scope tasks.
Required skills:
Languages: English fluent, French is a plus, Russian is a plus, Spanish is a plus, Arabic is a plus.
Technical skills:
- Experience in DVB technologies: TS, satellite reception, understanding of CAS systems;
- Average Linux administration skills: ability to write simple Linux scripts, install a syslog server, or an ssh tunnel, compile a kernel;
- Strong TCP/IP basics: no need to understand advanced subjects like dynamic routing, but basics (netmasks, static routing, ARP…) must be perfectly understood;
- Experience in multicast is a plus.
Other skills:
- Lots of common sense, autonomy;
- Good communication skills;
- Basic project management skills (eg. ability to make one’s own planning and to spontaneously update it);
- Customer facing and negotiation.
